SSEN Transmission - Environmental Planning & Consenting opportunities
Base Location: Flexible Scotland
Salary: Market Competitive + car/cash allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing
Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible working options available
SSEN Transmission owns and operates the electricity transmission network in the north of Scotland, transporting energy from where it is generated to where it is needed, providing a safe and reliable supply of electricity to the communities it serves.
We are currently seeking highly motivated and experienced Consents Managers/Environmental Planners to support the delivery of Major, large-scale terrestrial Transmission infrastructure.
You will work on iconic, National infrastructure projects directly facilitating Scotland’s ambitions to meet net-zero through the transportation of renewable energy to the centres of demand.
You will also join a multi-award winning team, recognised for our sector-leading planning and sustainability initiatives, including "RTPI In-house planning team of the year" – Finalist and "IEMA Sustainability Impact Awards - Biodiversity & Environmental Net Gain” – Winner.
What do I need?
We would love to hear from individuals who have detailed knowledge of the Scottish Planning Process, Consenting regimes and Environmental Impact Assessment legislation.
You will be able to demonstrate your Project Management experience and have an understanding of how to manage all aspects of the delivery of major projects e.g. project definition and set up, management of consultants, costs, risk, quality and timing.
Ideally, you will have a Planning or Environmental related degree, preferably with postgraduate qualification coupled with experience in a relevant industry (e.g. infrastructure, environmental / planning consultancy dealing with major consenting projects). Membership of an appropriate planning or environmental professional body is also desirable.
