We are currently recruiting for a Planning Policy Officer. This is a career graded post, therefore, we will consider you if you are working towards becoming a planner, or are a planner and want to work in a council where you will gain further experience. In the role, you will develop, implement and review planning policies and related strategies for Nuneaton and Bedworth in order to achieve economic, social and environmental objectives. You will work collaboratively, flexibly and innovatively with colleagues within the service, across other delivery teams, elected members and with key stakeholders.

The Council is currently preparing to begin the review of the Borough Plan adopted in 2019 and consequently, you will be joining at a pivotal and exciting time as we drive towards achieving the adoption of a new Borough Plan.

We are an agile council and have the equipment and resources to manage our workload flexibly, so you will have the opportunity to work from home, the office and in the field.

You should have:-
• Strong communication and report writing skills
• Ability to manage diverse workload
• High level of motivation and personal enthusiasm
• Knowledge and effective application of planning legislation and guidance
• Working towards, or obtained a relevant qualification in Town Planning or appropriate equivalent qualification
• Full membership or working towards becoming a member of the RTPI
• Ability to work out of normal office hours and travel around the sub-region within reasonable timescales, when required.
