Head of Economic Initiatives and Skills

Osborne Richardson has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Interim Head of Economic Initiatives and Skills to join our client, a Local Authority based in South London for a contract role. Reporting to the Assistant Director for Business, Employment and Skills you will assist our client in bringing forward a new Economic Development Strategy (EDS) for the Borough, setting out the Council's long-term vision for the local economy to 2030.

You will be responsible for driving forward our client's economic growth to ensure that development, investment and job creation happen and that all communities in the borough enjoy the benefits.

You will set clear objectives and ensure resources are available in order to drive the delivery of a number of ambitious strategic programmes our client is working on. You will also be responsible for delivering other smaller projects which fall under our clients programme portfolio.

Applicants for this position must have significant experience of economic development and regeneration initiatives in the public sector, strong experience of engaging local businesses and LEP's, of working with partner organisations and of project delivery. You must be able to develop, manage and oversee a proactive and strategic approach to commissioned work and community wealth building.

The role has initially been released as a 3 month placement with the potential for an extension. The rate offered is negotiable depending on experience but is expected to be around £500+/day. This role is inside IR35. It
