An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Planning and Economic Development Team at Worcester City Council. We are looking appoint an Assistant Planning Enforcement Officer to work in our very busy Development Management service to deal with a range of planning enforcement matters.

The successful candidate will be responsible for dealing with breaches of planning control, heritage matters as well as being part of the Council's co-ordinated enforcement activities across its various services. You can play a leading role in achieving the highest standards in the vital services we provide to this beautiful city. You will be joining an experienced team and supporting the City Council to deliver an excellent planning service.

About you

We are looking for somebody with a planning degree, planning enforcement qualification (or working towards it) or experience in planning matters with an understanding of Development Management legislation and procedure with experience of being able to make sound judgement on material planning considerations.

You will need to be well-organised and have the ability to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and must be able to negotiate and give clear messages under pressure. Tact and diplomacy in dealing with a wide range of people will be required and a strong commitment to customer care.
