An exciting time to join West Oxfordshire District Council
West Oxfordshire District Council is dedicated to maintaining and enhancing West Oxfordshire as one of the best places to live, work and visit in the UK. The Council has an ambitious Council Plan focussed on a range of important priorities including climate action, strong local communities, and a vibrant district economy. We want to deliver excellent modern services whilst ensuring the financial sustainability of the Council. We also want to continue working in close partnership with our local communities and other important partners.
West Oxfordshire’s central position, coupled with its high environmental quality makes it an attractive location. Around one third of the District falls within the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). The area also has a strong functional and economic link with Oxford and it forms part of the strong and thriving Oxfordshire local economic area. These characteristics make it an interesting place in planning terms and define an area that seeks economic progress and the maintenance of a high quality of life.
We need to ensure that new development is coupled with appropriate and timely investment in supporting infrastructure. As part of this commitment, we are looking to recruit a Senior Infrastructure Delivery Officer who will have primary responsibility for the management, monitoring and implementation of developer contributions at West Oxfordshire District Council including Section 106 (S106) legal agreements and (subject to implementation) the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL).
