Planning Manager - (Clientside role) - South London

Osborne Richardson is delighted to be working with a reputable UK Residential Developer. The company has several decades of experience, successfully identifying and resourcing valuable sites across the country and additionally achieving planning permissions.

We are looking for a Senior Planner or Associate with strong experience working on residential schemes within a consultancy, that is now looking to make the transition to a client-side role. Alternatively you may already be working in a similar client-side role.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

•  Carrying out planning appraisals of sites, assessing their suitability
•  Unlocking both immediate and strategic residential development opportunities
•  Building a good understanding of current and emerging national planning policy
•  Leading and liaising with architects and other consultants
•  Negotiating at pre-application stage with planning officers and subsequently submitting planning applications
•  Monitoring emerging local development plans that may affect the company's core business areas

It is essential that candidates are:

•  MRTPI chartered
•  Have experience of working on residential schemes
•  An eye for detail but able to think strategically too
•  Used to working with minimal supervision and have an ability to use one's own initiative
•  Have excellent communication skills, both written and oral
•  some strategic land experience is ideal but not a pre-requisite
