Your new company
Working as a Noise & Nuisance Officer for this bustling West London Borough you will get to work with a variety of interesting cases, working closely with the local community, to enforce and reduce the impact of noise on residents.


Your new role
You will work together with the other Environmental Health Officers to oversee and manage the response and investigation / resolution, within published service standards / performance targets, of complaints / service requests relating primarily to noise and nuisance, but also complaints relating to other areas within the Environment Department remit, as necessary. You will also delegate / prepare and serve legal notices under the Environmental Protection Act 1990, Control of Pollution Act 1974 and any other legislation that is appropriate to secure the main purpose of the post, including any enforcement action in respect of these when necessary. As well as this you will lead on / contribute to projects and initiatives in relation to the work of the Noise and Nuisance Service and, where appropriate, the rest of the Environment Department / Council as a whole, whilst keeping abreast of appropriate legal and technical developments in Noise and Nuisance and relevant areas of Environmental Health. Additionally time will be spent on preparing detailed reports relating to case work and wider noise and nuisance issues and attending internal and external meetings and Committees of the Council when required. You will also respond to consultations and represent the Service on Licensing Act 2003 applications to promote the prevention of public nuisance licensing objective, and be willing / can act as a Local Authority Liaison Officer (LALO) in the case of major emergencies. Finally, you will undertake the training of staff (including students from other authorities and other professionals) and be responsible for the supervision of students and other trainees as required.


What you'll need to succeed
You will need to have previous recent experience as a Noise & Nuisance Officer to be successful in this role. Whilst this is the case differing levels of experience is not an issue and will be discussed if an interview is requested from the council.
