Principal Planner

Our client is a Local Authority looking for a Principal Planning Officer to join their Applications Team, reporting directly to the Major Applications Manager. You will manage a varied caseload of Planning Applications including major strategic applications and you will lead on the negotiations for these applications to ensure community benefits are secured and the Council's regeneration objectives are met. You will prepare and present Committee reports on major proposals of strategic importance and you'll prepare statements, proofs of evidence for public enquiries and act as professional witness.

To apply for these roles you will need to be a degree qualified Town Planner with a strong development management background. You will need to be comfortable managing your own caseload and able to work well under pressure when required. You will need to be well organised and confident dealing with external third parties and able to produce well written communications. Your strong knowledge of UK planning legislation will enable you to provide pre-application advice and you will be confident when advising developers on planning proposals; good negotiation skills are essential.

This role is based in South East London and initially it will run until 25th April 2022. Our client is looking to pay between ££40-£50/hr umbrella. Please get in touch for further details including a copy of the JD.
