Development Control Manager

Location: Matlock, Derbyshire

Salary: £45,859 to £49,283 per annum plus relocation assistance

We handle in excess of 1,500 planning applications from complex development of several hundred houses to determining householder applications. Whilst protecting the character of the area, planning decisions also create healthy and sustainable communities and strengthen the economy. As Development Control Manager, you will lead our approach to strategic planning and design in a collaborative way across the Council. You will work in partnership with neighbouring authorities and also negotiate with developers. You will be responsible for shaping and leading our team of planning officers in delivering our Corporate Plan and Local Plan objectives.

As a credible, qualified planner, you will bring a strong ‘customer first’ perspective and the vision needed to see opportunities and drive change ensuring our Development Management Service is agile and flexible to meet our residents’ needs.
