Reporter, The Planner
Salary £22-24,000 pa (subject to experience)
Could you write about a profession whose decisions affect the environment we all live and work in? Do you have a flair for systematically scrutinising documents in order to produce lively, concise summaries of their contents?
The Planner is seeking a reporter to provide specialist feature content for its audience, members of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).
The role would suit an individual keen to develop their career by becoming an important member of our friendly and lively team. You'll need the ability to:
- take technical reports of planning appeal proceedings and turn them into punchy, readable summaries for our audience of time-poor planners
- be adept at making and developing relationships with contacts, and
- write sharp, accurate copy to tight deadlines
You’ll need to be proficient with the usual social media channels and confident in your ability to navigate a variety of content management systems.
While you’ll be mainly writing about appeals, there’ll be plenty of opportunities to contribute to our content in other ways, from developing ideas to writing features. If you’ve got a feeling for good content and good storytelling, and enjoy the challenge of understanding what really matters to our readers, this could be the job for you.
As the official magazine of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI), 'The Planner' has an audience of 23,000.
Redactive Media Group, the UK's leading content and publishing services agency for membership organisations, produces the title. Redactive offers a competitive basic salary and excellent benefits package, a personal training plan, 25 days' holiday and subsidised gym membership. Based in bright modern offices in Aldgate, the company culture is friendly, informal and creative, but with an emphasis on high quality work.
If you would like to apply, please do so by 28 November 2021. Interviews will be held during December 2021.
