Starting salary up to circa £46000 per annum plus essential car user allowance

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our Planning Control team covering the historic and growing market towns of King’s Lynn, Downham Market & Hunstanton, as well as parts of the Norfolk Coast Area, the Fens and the Brecks. This is therefore a unique opportunity to work in a beautiful part of the country. We have two opportunities for you as either a Principal Planner or Planner/Senior Planner to help shape our Borough’s future. We need you to help balance the new growth planned for the area, with the preservation of the Borough’s unique environment and heritage. Working in our Planning Control team, you will deal with a range of planning issues and related applications, including urban, rural and coastal planning. You will need to carry out your duties efficiently and effectively, using good communication skills to provide our customers with a high quality service.

As a Principal Planner, you will be responsible for all areas of Development Control, leading and developing a team and contributing to the wider management of the section. This is a role where your experience will not only be valued but will also make a real difference in helping us achieve our goals as well as your own. You will be educated to degree level, eligible for corporate membership of the RTPI and have a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience. A qualification in leadership and management would also be desirable.
