Planning Manager (Development)

Salary range: Competitive

Never has there been a more exciting time to join Broxbourne Borough Council’s planning team. We are a small authority with big ambitions. There are a number of major developments underway, including Brookfield Riverside, an out of town shopping centre with shops and leisure facilities, and also the new Sunset Studios Hollywood style film production complex. Do you want to lead our small, self-moitivated, friendly team comprising of Development Management, Planning Compliance and Planning Administration teams? If the answer is yes, then you will be a leader with a positive mindset, who leads by example and is able to motivate and enthuse those that work for and with you. If this is you, we want you to apply for this exciting opportunity.

This role requires a planner with excellent technical skills and knowledge. Most importantly we are seeking someone with excellent communication skills who will develop strong relationships with applicants and our partners to proactively enable development within the Borough. Excellent project and staff management abilities are essential. You will need to have strong analysis and problem-solving skills; the ability to identify and implement innovative solutions to difficulties; and above all, you must be able to demonstrate that you will make a positive difference to Broxbourne. If you feel this is the role for you, you should be a chartered member of the RTPI, ideally with previous experience managing a team.

The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in fluent English is essential in this post.
