Validation Officer - Planning
Grade 6, SCP 18-23 £24,982 - £27,741
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a temporary Validation Officer based within Development Services, Regeneration, Investment and Housing.
This is a key post within a multifunctional Technical Support and Administration Service supporting the successful delivery of statutory and non-statutory Planning, Building Control and Service admin functions. The postholder will be responsible for the validation or invalidation of planning applications within specific timescales and identifying if minimum requirements have been met and request any outstanding /additional information required for successful validation. Dealing with resultant queries and providing guidance to applicants, maintaining a positive and professional attitude. The calculation and receipt of associated fees and manage performance data. You will work with the Technical Support Manager and Service Manager in order to continually drive improvements and efficiencies within the Service.
You should possess 2 'A' levels or NVQ Level 3 in a relevant discipline or BTEC National in Business or Finance (or equivalent). A knowledge and understanding of Planning and Building Control legislation and administration is also essential.
