Planning Officer x Two
Salary - Grade 7, SCP 23-27 £27,741 - £31,346
AN OPPORTUNITY HAS ARISEN FOR PLANNING OFFICERS IN THE DEVELOPMENT SERVICES SECTION OF THE COUNCIL. THIS WOULD BE A PERMANENT ROLE.
The role of the postholder will be to assist in all matters relating to the Development Management service, to include collection, recording, compilation and analysis of information on applications, appeals or enforcement and the validation of applications. The role also requires the postholder to be responsible for a personal caseload of planning and related applications and enforcement cases to include negotiation with applicants, site appraisals, investigations and the preparation of reports and recommendations. The postholder will also provide pre-application advice on minor and householder development and be part of a duty officer rota.
An ability to drive and access site for the purpose of undertaking site visits is desirable. The complexity of applications to be processed and level of supervision given will be related to the post holder's qualifications and experience.
Candidates must either hold a recognised qualification in Town Planning (or a related discipline) to a minimum level of HND, HNC or NVQ Level 4 or alternatively, applicants with an equivalent combination of knowledge and several years experience of planning in practice will be considered.
