Planning Officers - Householder/Minor Apps

Osborne Richardson are working with a Local Authority in Essex which is looking for up to 4 Planning Officers to join their Development Management for contract roles. Our client is offering very competitive rates of up to £37/hr for these Officers to manage large caseloads of householder and minor applications, including COU, LDCs, Adverts and small commercials.

You will join a busy team and will therefore need to be able to pick up work from day one. Working within our clients agreed parameters you will provide technical input and advice and have responsibility to liaise with relevant stake holders to guide them through the planning process. It is essential that you are able to work quickly and confidently to provide useful information and to ensure service delivery is efficient and professional.

To apply for this role you will need a relevant town planning degree, and you must have at least 12 months of recent experience of working in a similar role. You will need an excellent knowledge of UK planning legislation, and you ideally you will have experience working on behalf of a local authorities planning department. You will need to be able to work well under pressure and manage your workload to agreed deadlines.

This is a home working role though you will need to carry out site visits and erect site notices as and when required. You will need access to your own vehicle in order to carry out these duties. You will not be required to attend committee meetings in this role.

These positions will initially be offered for three months but given their workload, they could be extended beyond this. They are offering between £32-£37/hr depending on your experience, and these roles are inside IR35. A tablet/laptop and smartphone will be provided.
