New Opportunity: Trainee Planning Officer / Planning Officer

This job position is within the Commercial Development and Economic Growth Directorate - Planning Services 

Salary - Grade 6 to 9: £22,183 to £32,910 per annum 

This post will commence on Grade 6 to 9  with progression beyond top of Grade 6 subject to achievement of RTPI accredited degree and Executive Director’s approval and beyond top of Grade 7 subject to securing of MRTPI status and Executive Director’s approval.

About the job 

You will be either a Trainee Officer or Planning Officer responsible for dealing with pre-planning application enquiries, planning applications, enforcement cases and appeals.

The successful candidate will either have a Royal Town Planning Institute accredited degree or be prepared to undertake, with the Council’s support, such a degree course. If you do not already have an RTPI accredited degree you will meet the entry requirements for RTPI accredited courses and as such you will be likely to have a degree or equivalent in Town and Country Planning or a closely related qualification. 

Ideally you will be a Student, Associate, Licentiate or Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute.
