Key responsibilities for the roles will include:

Negotiate challenging conditions with statutory authorities and submit robust supporting information.

  • Oversee and manage external consultants to deliver proportionate and robust Environmental Impact Assessments and appraisals.
  • Develop, control and build mutually beneficial external stakeholder relationships (consenting bodies, statutory authorities, key consultees, and government departments).
  • Working under a Lead Consents & Environment Manager, there will be a high level of autonomy for your projects with the benefit of experienced support and guidance where required.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have

  • Detailed knowledge of the Scottish Planning Process, Consenting regimes and Environmental Impact Assessment legislation.

  • A willingness to contribute, adapt, and learn within a busy, fast-moving team, dealing with challenges and opportunities across an extensive workload. Innovation and new ideas are welcomed where they can add value and improve the consenting approach and will be rewarded with good opportunities for long term career progressions within this key sector
  • IIdeally, you will have a Planning or Environmental related degree, preferably with postgraduate qualification coupled with experience in a relevant industry (e.g. infrastructure, environmental / planning consultancy dealing with major consenting projects). Membership of an appropriate planning or environmental professional body is also desirable.

We are seeking candidates at the senior/associate level, although ambitious highly motivated applicants will also be considered where appropriate.
