Opportunity for Senior Planning Consultant

Geddes Consulting has an exciting opportunity for a talented and experienced chartered Town Planner to work on local development plan representations and planning applications for medium to large scale strategic residential and mixed-use developments.

Regarded as one of Scotland’s leading independent planning consultancies, we provide a range of project services, including masterplanning, urban design, landscape architecture, project sustainability and viability – delivering a comprehensive suite of products for our clients.

You will benefit from direct involvement in this broad range of services, advancing your learning and appreciation of different skills and specialisms to deliver place-making projects.

The ideal candidate will be looking to further their experience and skills base in a practical workplace environment, working as a member of our multi-disciplinary team.

You will join our established team to help deliver your assigned tasks, working up to a position where you will lead the delivery of commissioned projects and co-ordinating the work of the project team.

The successful candidate may be a qualified town planner with at least five years’ work experience preferably including development management in a planning authority.

You will have excellent skills in collating evidence and reaching planning decisions as well as project management. Knowledge of how residential, mixed-use and regeneration projects are delivered within the Scottish planning system is beneficial. Work experience in a local authority is equally relevant as experience gained in the private sector.

Our multi-disciplinary team works closely with experts in transport, archaeology, ecology and other technical specialists and an appreciation of the EIA policy framework and assessment process would be an advantage.

You will have the opportunity to take responsibility on your projects and contribute to the future growth and success of the business. Work portfolios are managed to ensure that all staff experience a breadth and depth of project opportunities.
