Following the retirement of the previous postholder, we are seeking an Assistant Director of Planning to lead our planning function, including development management and planning policy. You will be responsible for delivering exceptional performance and outstanding customer service, as well as providing inspiring and empowering leadership to our planning team.

Having recently undertaken a review of our planning services, we are proud to say that the quality of our team and what they deliver is excellent, and we will be looking for you to ensure that this continues. We will also be looking for you to ensure that we deliver outstanding customer service, and that we maximise the quality of how we respond to (and interact with) all key stakeholders.

We welcome applications from candidates with broad planning backgrounds with experience gained in other local authorities. The ideal candidate will have a rounded planning background, and will be able to work across the full spectrum of planning services to ensure that we continue to deliver outstanding results. Most importantly, we are looking for candidates who share our values and our commitment to delivering the best possible outcomes for the residents of Melton.
