Rochdale forms part of the Greater Manchester city region and is experiencing significant economic growth and urban renewal. The Council’s Development Management team plays a major role in this growth agenda. Work is well under way on the £400m transformation of Rochdale town centre and our wider regeneration strategy includes the delivery of more than 10,000 new homes, with a focus on town centre living and new provision close to our key transport hubs.

You will have a recognised planning qualification, an up to date working knowledge of legislation, policy and procedure and best practice relating to development management, enforcement and heritage and have an ability to apply policy creatively on the ground.  You will have demonstrable experience of Member and community engagement and of determining planning applications within challenging timescales.  You will be a talented team player who is willing to make a difference and contribute to the continued improvement of the service.

If you think you would be a good fit, we would love to hear from you. In return, we can offer you the chance to thrive in a supportive and friendly team, with opportunities for further training and development. You will enjoy a generous annual leave entitlement, access to the local government pension scheme and flexible working arrangements. Additional benefits include subsidised gym membership and access to our employee assistance programme to promote health and wellbeing.
