Senior Town Planner -£43-£63/hr

Our client based in Bedfordshire requires a Town Planner with minimum of 3 years direct DM experience with a Local Authority to deal with a mixed caseload of urban and rural developments. You must also have an excellent knowledge of the permitted development order.

The role will comprise bringing a backlog of existing undetermined cases, which are beyond the statutory timeframe, to conclusion. You will be required to review case file(s) and writing assessments based upon the information held and issuing decisions. The post holder will report to a dedicated Team Leader.

Recent work experience within a Local Authority setting is essential and applicants should be able to write detailed assessments and committee reports. You will need to have good communication skills as you will be dealing with a wide range of stakeholders on a daily basis to convey complex, detailed information in a clear, concise format. You must be able to work well under pressure and have the ability to manage a large and varied caseload of applications.

The role will be offered for an initial 3 month period, but it is expected to last for at least 6 months if not longer. The rate offered is between £43-£63/hr Umbrella depending on experience.

Site visits may be required from time to time, but it is expected that the role can primarily be carried out from home. However, an office space can be provided at the Council Offices if preferred.
