We are seeking an experienced Planning & Estates Manager to help manage our mineral and industrials portfolio in our Central and North Region, stretching from the Midlands to the Scottish Borders.

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or have the relevant minerals planning or surveying experience within the industry and be self-motivated, pro-active and able to manage a broad range of projects simultaneously with minimum supervision. Ideally you will be a Chartered Surveyor or Chartered Town Planner who is enthusiastic about working in a busy environment with exciting growth ambitions and is able to communicate with and influence a diverse range of colleagues and stakeholders.

The Opportunity

Our land and mineral resources team comprises of experienced professional and chartered town planners, mineral surveyors, geologists, GIS and environmental permitting specialists. The team is involved at all stages of the development process, from identifying, appraising, and negotiating the acquisition of land, throughout the consenting processes into operations and restoration, where we enhance nature and create thriving habitats.

What will you do?

The Land & Mineral Resources Team has an extremely busy and diverse portfolio of work.

Your key responsibilities, achieved via coordination and liaison with external consultants are to:

  • Develop the Company’s organic mineral replenishment strategy
  • Maintain Breedon’s licence to operate in a sustainable, cost effective and sustainable manner
  • Manage and ensure compliance of all planning permissions
  • Management of property agreements and associated occupation costs, including the payment and review of rents and royalties
  • Coordinate and liaise with external planning and environmental consultants to produce surveys studies and reports as necessary.

Location

The location of the role can be flexible and will involve an element of hybrid working. We have key offices in the region at Durham and Breedon on the Hill.
