Salary: up to £37,568 plus £1,239pa Essential Car User Allowance, plus market supplement of £3,000pa, plus Recruitment payment of £3,000pa (pro rata for part time)

We currently have three exciting opportunities available at Chichester District Council within our Development Management service. Whether you are an experienced Planning Officer or looking to commence a career in planning we have a rewarding role that would suit you.
We are looking for two experienced, enthusiastic, and motivated individuals to work in a fast-paced environment dealing with a range of either major or significant minor planning applications, pre-application enquiries, with responsibility for mentoring junior members of the team. The posts would be suitable for a qualified and experienced planning individual with excellent communication and presentation skills. You should have a minimum of three years post qualification experience and ideally some previous experience of dealing with complex planning applications and mentoring.
We are also seeking someone who can work under pressure whilst ensuring deadlines are met to assist us in handling an increasingly challenging enforcement workload. Based within the historic cathedral city of Chichester, you will deal with a full range of complaints about breaches of planning control and take a lead role in resolving them.
