Are you an ambitious and motivated professional keen to lead a team of planning officers and play a part in shaping the future of Waverley?

Are you passionate about driving performance and excellent customer services and motivating others to do the same?

Are you seeking a role with variety, where you can be relied upon to deliver a service with expertise and knowledge across your team?

Are you able to demonstrate a high level of competence in dealing with a range of complex planning issues, including planning legislation and national policy?

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a vibrant, driven planning team based in a beautiful market town location in the heart of South-West Surrey countryside, yet with very easy access to London and the coast via rail and road.

As a member of the RTPI, you will be an effective communicator with strong negotiating, leadership, and motivational skills.

This is chance to expand and build on your experience whilst having the opportunity to support your officers in delivering a rewarding range of complex planning applications in some of the most beautiful parts of southern England.  Directing a team of experienced planning officers through a journey of deliverable targets with a high performance thrust objective of customer satisfaction.

Working across the Majors and Minors Planning Team you will have strong people skills, being able to establish and maintain positive working relationships with officers, customers, and partners to ensure targets are met whilst supporting your team members to be the best they can be.

This post is a full-time role. However, all applications will be considered.

We offer a very supportive environment, including hybrid home/office working, flexitime, and free on-site parking and you will be given a high level of autonomy in the role.

For an informal discussion about the post, please contact Zac Ellwood, Head of Planning & Economic Development on 01483 523395 or Business & Performance Manager, Sally Busby on 01483 523397.  If you feel this might be the right next move for you, we would be delighted to hear from you.

Please note that we do not accept CVs without a completed application form.

Closing date for applications: 09:00am 11th July 2022

Interview date: Monday 4 July 2022 and Tuesday 5 July 2022
