About the role…
We are seeking to appoint a Planning Enforcement & Compliance Officer who will undertake and assist with the investigation of alleged breaches of planning control. You will respond to these alleged breaches and take appropriate action where necessary, collecting evidence and preparing relevant notices and statements. A key role will be assisting in the delivery of a professional and efficient planning enforcement service, where you will aid in a variety of enforcement related responsibilities working within a similarly minded team.
Alongside this we are looking for someone who understands the wider dimension of the planning service including application processing so this position may suit Planning Officers working in a Development Management or Policy related role seeking to widen and develop their experience within a forward thinking Council.
To be successful you will need…
- Experience with Planning Enforcement/compliance for a local authority or demonstrable Development Management or Planning Policy making experience with an ability to adapt;
- A thorough understanding of the planning system and planning enforcement legislation / tools;
- Experience in gathering and presenting evidence at court / public enquiries or transferable skills drawn from other experiences; and
- A proven track record of dealing with difficult situations;
