An exciting opportunity to join Enfield Planning Service as Joint Head of Development Management.
Our vision is to be recognised as one of the best Local Planning Authorities in London. We are making great progress towards delivering on this vision and this new role is critical to us moving to the next phase of our service transformation programme.
Enfield has an ambitious emerging Local Plan – planning for 25000 new homes up to 2039 – and a pipeline of major projects already progressing through the planning system including the Council’s Meridian Water regeneration project, a number of Council-led estate renewal, housing and regeneration projects and an exciting range of schemes being brought forward by private developers. The Development Management Service has a central role in helping deliver the Council’s ambitious growth agenda and the successful candidate will work with the team to build on existing strengths to implement and embed the next phase of our service transformation programme.
The successful candidate will work with the existing Head of Development Management to lead an exciting programme of service transformation alongside managing the Planning Enforcement; Building Control; Land Charges and Operational Support teams alongside assisting with management of the service’s Planning Decisions caseload and processes.
You will be joining an ambitious, talented and hardworking multi-disciplinary team and will enjoy engaging in a challenging but rewarding workload.
The successful candidate will have a collaborative, positive and proactive approach to planning; a clear and effective approach to project and people management and a desire to get things done.
This is a two year fixed term contract with potential for extension and we are open to applications for secondments.
