Swansea is on the cusp of unprecedented levels of regeneration & development investment.   Council led major regeneration projects at Swansea Central Phase 1, Kingsway and Tawe Riverside are already underway.  Other transformational projects will follow as the private sector recognises the development and inward investment opportunities in Swansea. Key to the continued success of our city regeneration is the role of our planning service. The role of Area Team Leader is integral to achieving this success.

You will be responsible for the processing & determination of all planning and related applications, and the enforcement of planning control and defence of decisions on appeal, in accordance with the adopted scheme of delegation. The role requires you to attend, advise & guide the Planning Committees (and at the discretion of the Development Manager to attend the Planning Committee) in the determination of relevant planning & related applications as lead Professional Planning Officer. The postholder will provide day to day advice & guidance to Members of the Council on planning, procedural and related matters and contribute to the continued improvement in the quality & performance of the Planning Control Service .

The position is full time permanent and is based at the Civic Centre, Swansea with agile working arrangements in line with the Council’s agile working and flexitime policies.
