Development Officer

£21,695 - £30,095 (depending upon experience) & car allowance

Fenland District Council is an award-winning progressive organisation, set in the heart of a scenic and unique rural landscape in north Cambridgeshire with diverse market towns and villages with good transport links to London, Cambridge, Peterborough, and the North Norfolk coast.

Our positive, can-do culture enables us to punch above our weight and empowers staff to go that extra mile in delivering important services for local people.

This is an ideal opportunity for you to start your planning career within a busy but friendly team dealing with a range of developments and challenges. You will have an interesting and varied case load covering various forms of small-scale developments. You need to have good organisational skills, capable of multi-tasking, be good with customers and have a confident outlook.

Training and support will be provided and there is the opportunity for you to gain a formal planning qualification via an apprenticeship.

The Council operates a generous flexi-time scheme as well as offering a number of other benefits, including hybrid working, a car user allowance, free car parking, discounted access to leisure facilities and the payment of professional fees. If you want to develop your career with a positive and forward-thinking organisation, we would love to hear from you.

You must have a current driving licence and have a car available for work.

For an informal chat about the role please contact Sheila Black, Principal Development Management Officer on 07752700195 or Nick Harding, Head of Planning on 07593101090.
