The Project Manager will become a member of the Onshore Renewables Development Team based in Glasgow. This role encompasses all aspects of project development to ensure the effective delivery of Onshore renewable projects to meet the ScottishPower Renewable’s (SPR) ambitious Onshore pipeline growth targets. 

You will focus on the delivery of planning consents/permits for the projects with all necessary financial approval and budgetary control associated. You will establish strong relationships with an all major stakeholders including Regulators, Planning Authorities, Governments, Communities, Landowners, Land Agents, Legal Advisors, Sub Consultants and Suppliers.

Most activities will be based in SPR’s Head Office in Glasgow however some travel may be required to facilitate project meetings and site visits.
 

What you’ll be doing

You will lead and recommend appropriate project and commercial strategies to the Senior Project Manager and the Head of Onshore Development, and identify management of risks and issues. 

You will be responsible for financial management including budgeting, forecasting, invoicing, and cost control while also being involved in the tendering process and the effective management of external suppliers and contractors. 

Importantly, we will look for you to formulate the strategy and review of the Environmental impact Assessment process including the preparation of Environmental Statements and planning applications for our Renewables projects, and help  support any  Planning Appeals process should one arise. 

Using your communication skills, you will effectively liaise and consult with stakeholders such as,  Local Planning Authorities, Scottish Government, An Bord Pleanála, and the Northern Ireland Department for Infrastructure to secure approval and / or resolution of any issues raised on projects using your innovative thinking and help identify potential mitigation to offset project risk. 

What you’ll bring

You will have previous experience in a project management position, ideally with a planning / environmental degree or Qualification and/or be able to demonstrate experience of working within these areas. 

Ideally you will also have previous Renewables project design experience and/or experience of delivering consents for major developments and have an awareness of Environmental Impact Assessments with the ability to understand the impact of construction projects on the environment. 

We will also expect you to have knowledge of local and national planning processes with the ability to develop and deliver high quality planning applications and fit for purpose consents.
