Operations Manager- Town Planning
Location: Grafton House, Ipswich/ Hybrid Working
Salary: Circa £60,000 per annum
Are you looking to develop your career as a senior manager in local government, there is no better place than Ipswich Borough Council.
As the professional lead for the Planning Service, you will be managing policy, development management, conservation, and our special projects team. Supported by a dedicated business support team, you will have direct responsibility for 27 members of staff and 4 major workstreams.
With a population of 140,000 people, Ipswich is a tightly defined urban area, the historic East Anglian port town with its significant industrial heritage and an Anglo Saxon and medieval history which is still evident today. With fantastic green spaces, an operational port, a marina with extensive residential/leisure development; our famous town professional football club in the heart of our sports village proposals, a new university campus, contemporary 20th Century development including the world class Willis Building.
The Council has ambitious targets to build more affordable housing, regenerate brownfield sites and importantly a newly adopted local plan promoting increased homes and jobs. We are primed for growth; you will be joining us at this exciting and important time.
