To deliver our ambition and to Make Torbay Better, we are now seeking a Head of Development Management. You will lead a critical part of our organisation, ensuring that the team delivers an exceptional customer experience, working with our partners to help shape the future of Torquay, Brixham, Paignton and the surrounding areas. Developing upon our Heritage Led regeneration projects and the transformation of our town centres. You will lead and motivate our exceptional team, driving transformation and performance improvement, supporting our broader ambitions for our businesses and residents.

We are seeking an experienced planning professional, with a strong background in development management, as well as a working knowledge of broader planning policy and enforcement issues. Given the importance of leadership within this role, you will have track record of leading and motivating colleagues, although we welcome applications from candidates looking to step up into a role at this level for the first time. You will inspire trust and confidence, and bring a track record of building relationships with elected members, colleagues and external partners.

Undertaking the role of Head of Development Management, you will be professionally curious, actively strive to build regional and national networks, whilst providing clear and credible advice to senior officers and elected members.
