New Talent Wanted!
We are recruiting to bolster our Planning and Development resource to meet demand and improve the services we provide.
The Job:
Cherwell District Council needs two new Principal Planning Policy Officers to help push forward our Local Plan Review and other planning policy work.
The Local Plan is one of the Council’s most important strategies and is a highly visible area of the work. With the support of our Planning Policy, Conservation & Design Manager and a Planning Policy Team Leader, you will work a close-knit team to deliver the Plan engaging with other services, elected members, communities, developers and neighbouring authorities. To support plan preparation, consultation has been undertaken on Issues and Options Papers (2020 and 2021) and a draft Plan (Reg.18 – 2023).
The Person:
You will need the skills, drive and commitment to supervise and deal with a complex and varied planning policy workload. You will need to be a good planner. You should also be proactive, delivery focused, innovative and highly adept in group working and problem solving. The ability to stay focused whilst being aware of wider challenges is essential. You should be good with people and strong at team working.
The Benefits:
The Council is an equal opportunities employer. We offer agile working, which means we don’t have a rigid work location. Our staff work from home and in the office to suit the business need.
Other benefits include:
- A generous annual leave entitlement 27 days + Bank holidays
- Opportunity to join the Local Government Pension Scheme (Including Employer Contribution)
- Cycle to work scheme
- Annual Flu Vaccination
- £25 Annual eye test voucher
- Incremental pay award (awarded annually in April after one years’ service)
- Flexible working policy
We will review applications upon receipt.
