The North York Moors National Park Authority looks after and promotes one of the most spectacular parts of the British Isles. We are now seeking a new Level 7 Apprentice to join us on a full-time basis for a four-year fixed term contract.

The Role

As a Level 7 Apprentice, you will learn everything there is to know about planning services within a National Park.

Working within this supporting role, you will assist our Development Management Service with planning applications and proposals and provide technical support to the Development Management Team, Building Conservation Team and Planning Policy Officers.

We will provide all the support you need to be able to respond to straightforward planning applications and requests for information, undertake research into site histories, and complete admin tasks.

Additionally, you will be trained and supported to:

  • Provide advice to applicants, agents and third parties both over the phone and in person
  • Support Planning Officers with more complex enquires
  • Deal with notifications and enquiries received via letter and in-person

About You

To be considered as a Level 7 Apprentice, you will need:

  •  A 2:2 degree or NVQ Level 4 in Planning Administration or related qualification
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good interpersonal and customer care skills
  • Good organisational skills
  • Excellent IT skills
  • A full, valid driving licence
