This is an exciting opportunity to join the Council’s Planning Enforcement Team.  The post will suit someone with a positive and proactive approach to resolving breaches of planning control. You will have experience and knowledge of planning enforcement and be expected to carry out the full range of enforcement duties including serving notices and dealing with appeals and court appearances with the minimum of supervision. Enforcement Officers are expected to take lead responsibility for specific enforcement projects and to take a proactive lead in the continuous improvement of enforcement services in accordance with national best practice. You will have the time management skills necessary to cope with a varied and demanding workload with a range of deadlines and targets; be customer orientated, and ensure developers, businesses and residents are treated fairly, in accordance with national and local planning policies, and the Sheffield Local Enforcement Plan.  Good interpersonal skills are also necessary, as you will be liaising and negotiating with the public, external agents and organisations, Councillors and other Council departments.

An RTPI accredited, advanced qualification in Planning Enforcement and a planning qualification would be advantageous, along with the possession of a clean driving licence.
