Remote Working, 3 days a week, 22.2 hours, flexible, fixed term until March 2025

About the role
Under the leadership of the Partnership Manager, Cornwall National Landscape (AONB) are seeking a highly motivated and organised planning professional with landscape expertise to take on the role of part time Planning Officer. Sensitive planning and development within the National Landscape is key to the enhancement and long-term protection of the high-quality landscapes of the 12 Sections of Cornwall National Landscape (AONB).
The purpose of the post is to provide strategic advice and tactical response on planning and development within the Cornwall National Landscape (AONB). We are looking for a team player who will work alongside 2 x Planning Officers, but also have the ability to work independently. They will also work with Partners in delivering policy advice and will work with the wider Cornwall National Landscape (AONB) Team to achieve the delivery of the Management Plan:

About you
The successful applicant will be an RTPI qualified planner. Ideally the successful applicant will have a good working knowledge of planning issues in protected landscapes. They should demonstrate knowledge of current planning legislation and commitment to designated landscapes and their statutory purpose.
The successful applicant will be required to adopt a creative and innovative approach to their work and will be responsible for effective working with Cornwall Council colleagues and Cornwall National Landscape Partners to achieve our agreed outcomes.

* This role will occasionally include travel around Cornwall’s stunning protected landscapes. The sites are remote and not well connected to public transport links, so the post holder must be able to drive and have access to a vehicle should site visits be required.
