Located in Lancashire, close to the Lake District, North Yorkshire Moors and Yorkshire Dales, Ribble Valley is a beautiful rural area which includes market towns and picturesque villages and a large part of the Forest of Bowland Area National Landscape.
The combination of such an attractive area and proximity to large urban areas in Lancashire present an interesting and challenging mix of planning issues.
We are looking for three enthusiastic planners to join a multi-disciplinary team dealing with planning policy, housing, economic development, and community partnerships. You will be involved in the preparation and adoption of the Council’s new Local Plan and associated planning policy documents.
In two of the positions, we are looking for experienced planners, who will have a key role in the preparation and successful delivery of the Council’s new Local Plan. You will receive and respond as appropriate to written, telephone and face-to-face enquiries regarding the Local Plan and other planning policy documents. You will also lead in delivering a range of related planning policy work. You must have a recognised town planning, or similar, qualification and knowledge of current planning legislation and guidance.
We are also looking for an enthusiastic person to join a multi-disciplinary team to assist in the preparation of the new Local Plan and other Planning Policy documents. This is a career graded post offering the opportunity to recently qualified planners, non-planning graduates and non-graduates to develop their career in Planning and become qualified planners. The minimum requirement is relevant A-levels. You will have a key role in the analysis and presentation of important data to support the preparation and successful delivery of the Council’s new Local Plan. You will also assist in delivering a range of related planning policy work.
If you wish to join an enjoyable yet challenging working environment that forms part of an organisation committed to making a real difference to the community that we serve, then we want to hear from you.
Join us to receive a host of benefits such as flexible working hours (flexitime scheme in operation with no core hours), generous leave entitlement, occupational pension scheme and training/development opportunities.
