The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park is one of Britain’s most iconic protected areas, our planners ensure that it remains protected from certain aspects of development. We work to conserve the National Park’s beauty for everyone to enjoy.

We are recruiting for a Senior Planning Officer, specialising in development management.

As part of the Senior Planning Officer (Development Management) role you will contribute to the delivery of the development management aspects of the Authority’s statutory local planning function, within the wider context of National Park purposes and the Authority’s Local Development Plan through the management of all forms of planning casework, including major applications.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Awareness and appreciation of the purposes of National Parks.
• Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
• A professional planning qualification (Membership of the RTPI is desirable).
• Significant experience of working within the planning field in either the public or private sector.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Positive approach to dealing with customers and stakeholders, with an ability to deal effectively with difficult customers and controversial situations.
• Excellent IT skills.

Salary and Benefits:

A salary of £32,076 - £36,648 per annum, minimum 25 days’ holiday rising to 30 days plus public holidays, generous local government pension scheme, great flexible working arrangements and career development opportunities.
