Senior Planning Officer (Policy)

Contract: Full time (36.25 hours) / Permanent

What you’ll be getting up to

As a Senior Planning Officer in our Policy team, you will support the preparation and delivery of the Council’s Local Plan, collaborating closely with our plan partners; Chorley Borough Council and Preston City Council.

Additionally, you will provide advice regarding planning policy to Senior Officers, the Development Management team, Councillors and members of the public. You will deputise for the team leader in their absence when required.

 Who we’re looking for

  • Someone who can hit the ground running, is a great team player and will take pride in their work as part of a dedicated Planning Policy team at South Ribble.
  • Someone with an eye for detail, and an excellent level of planning policy experience, having been involved in Local Plan production at every stage.
  • Someone who is able to work independently and achieve challenging deadlines to ensure that the Planning Policy service is recognised as delivering an excellent service to all our customers.

 Other requirements

  • This role requires some travel around our boroughs. You should have a valid driving licence or the equivalent mobility.
