Assistant Director, Planning & Regulatory Services

Stevenage Borough Council

Up to £87,099 per annum

Help Stevenage become a destination for opportunity.

Stevenage is an ambitious and forward-thinking council with a strong reputation for exceeding expectations. With a £1bn town centre regeneration programme underway, including a major housing initiative for 18,000 homes, and 2,000,000 sq ft of life sciences developments set to create 7,000 new jobs and boost the local economy, we are well on our way to becoming a destination town of the future.

Our new Assistant Director for Planning & Regulatory Services will oversee a unique range of services, including Development Control, Planning Policy, Climate Change, Environmental Health, and Economic Development. A qualified planner by background, you will lead the council’s award-winning, high performing planning team to even greater success. In addition, your leadership will be critical in driving forward the next phase of our ambitious climate change agenda – which we are investing heavily in – and other vital technical services. This is an excellent opportunity to make a significant impact in a forward-thinking, well-resourced council. If you’re a dynamic leader ready to make lasting change, this is a great opportunity to shape the future of Stevenage.
