Senior Monitoring & Enforcement Officer

Are you passionate about preserving and protecting natural landscapes? Do you have experience in monitoring and enforcing planning regulations? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Senior Monitoring & Enforcement Officer in the stunning Peak District National Park.

The Role

You will be responsible for ensuring the effective control of development within the National Park. In particular, you will monitor sites and investigate complaints of planning breaches, resolving them through negotiation or by pursuing formal enforcement action, including drafting reports and formal notices and dealing with appeals. You will also contribute to the prosecution of offences, working closely with the Authority's legal officers including drafting statements and presenting evidence in court.

About You

You should have an RTPI full planning qualification and be able to demonstrate the ability to negotiate and make balanced judgements including in conflict situations as well as experience in development management practice, planning law and regulations. Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential.

RTPI Membership is desirable and a current full driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.
