These are exciting times to be working at Birmingham, one of the largest and most exciting Local Planning Authorities in the Country. Whilst we have faced challenging times over the last year, the continued growth of the city and the region is at the heart of the council’s recovery strategy.

The city has, and will continue to, experience significant employment, housing and retail growth and this needs to be balanced against the requirement to manage development pressure and also protect and retain the City’s natural and built assets. The planning team is at the centre of this and we are looking to appoint to the role of Senior Planning Enforcement Officer.

In this role you will provide advice and support to Councillors, Developers and members of the public, whilst managing a caseload of enforcement investigations and enquiries. You will undertake site visits, attend meetings, draft reports, and make written recommendations.

This is a fast paced role and requires excellent negotiation and organisational skills alongside a desire to deliver the best quality planning outcomes.

We have two permanent roles available and one 12 month fixed term contract.
