Senior Planning Officer

Hybrid, 10 Woodcock Street, Birmingham, B7 4BG

Grade 4 - £33,366 - £40,476

These are exciting times to be working at Birmingham Council, one of the largest and most exciting Local Planning Authorities in the Country. Whilst we have faced challenging times over the last year, the continued growth of the city and the region is at the heart of the council’s recovery strategy.

As a member of the Planning team, you will be integral to this recovery, capitalising on the significant development across the city and the arrival of HS2. The city has, and will continue to experience significant employment, housing and retail growth and this needs to be balanced against the need to manage development pressure and also protect and retain the City’s natural and built assets. The planning team is at the centre of this ambitious growth programme and we are seeking talented and driven people to deliver it.

We are seeking to recruit Senior Planning Officers in the Development Management team to help assess a wide range of planning applications from householder to the more complex cases. We need ambitious Planners who are excited to take on a variety of work in the most exciting city in the country.

We have got huge ambitions for Birmingham. As the shape of local government continues to change, we are determined to rise to the challenge and find new ways to ensure that our residents enjoy the best opportunities in life. Working at Birmingham gives you the opportunity to play a part in meeting those ambitions on behalf of everyone who calls the city their home.

We have two permanent roles available.

Closing date: 9 January 2025.
